Company

Did you know that PVS has its own Soccer team made up of PVS employees? Several different companies from around the Omaha area are included in the league. The groups play every weekend from June until November, or when there is snow on the ground. PVS employees from all three shifts play together. The home field is at Esther Pilster Park on 90th street between Maple and Fort. There is a $300 fee for each team, and the championship team takes the pot! Most of the players also play on church leagues.

They would love to have a cheering section! Please come out and watch them play, all day long on Saturday and Sundays!

Paxton & Vierling Employees enjoy a Halloween Potluck!

Employees took time out from their busy work day to celebrate Halloween with a Potluck luncheon. Over 40 meats, candies, cakes, cookies, and pie (notice a theme here?) were brought in and shared by all! A few employees even decided to attend the potluck in their trick or treat outfits!!

Owen Industries was the proud host of a Future Ready Iowa Summit on Tuesday, October 22 at its PVS-Metals Division located in Carter Lake IA. The focus of the summit, was how employers can create and sustain its talent pipeline as well as presenting different options that can help employers grow their skilled workforce, both internally and externally. “Employer support and participation is essential to the success of Future Ready Iowa and ensuring we meet our goal of 70 percent of Iowans with post-secondary training or education by 2025,” said Director Beth Townsend, Iowa Workforce Development. Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds spoke as well while, highlighting the significant benefits of a collaborative, public-private partnership to help build a skilled workforce for the future.

Of special note, PVS-Structures division employees Josh Tills and Aaron Lirette both were honored having completed a 2-yr competency based registered Welder Apprenticeship Program. Both individuals received an industry-issued credential as certified USDOL- Welder Journeyman.

Congrats to both individuals for their perseverance, dedication, and commitment.

Owen Industries “Charges” Forward with Clean Energy!

Owen Industries recently installed two Level 2 EV charging stations outside of their PVS Structures office building. Each station comes with an industry standard J1772 plug allowing 100% of all North American electric vehicles (EV) and hybrids to charge. For hybrids, this can catapult their miles per gallon (MPG) to 95 or greater, and costs less than 5 cents per kWh to use!

Thanks goes out to PVS Structures for leading the charge!

A $1.2 million donation is giving students at Westside High School the opportunity to learn skills they can’t necessarily find in a textbook.

With the addition of a new state-of-the-art facility right on the high school’s campus, students will get hands-on training that can lead to a job right after graduation.

“This is less of a donation as it is an investment. We already have some of these kids that graduated working in our shop,” Owen said.

Welding instructor John Bombac says 75 students are enrolled in a welding class and 28 are getting college credit.

Instead of a ribbon-cutting ceremony, Westside High School says it will host a steel-cutting ceremony at the new lab on Oct. 4.

Governor Pete Ricketts says he’ll be in attendance.
